Lunar New Year

There has been growing confusion and debate surrounding the terms "Lunar New Year" and "Chinese New Year."

While many associate this important celebration solely with Chinese culture, it is, in fact, a significant holiday celebrated across various Asian cultures, including South Korea, Japan, Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Tibet, and Vietnam.

As part of a broader movement, individuals and communities from these cultures are working to raise awareness and ensure the holiday is recognized as "Lunar New Year" to reflect its inclusive, multicultural significance.

Unfortunately,
even some schools in United States continue to teach or refer to it exclusively as "Chinese New Year," which overlooks its shared heritage.

To address this misconception and promote cultural understanding, we aim to create a website that educates the public about the diverse traditions surrounding Lunar New Year and asian cultures.

The platform will serve as a resource to foster knowledge, encourage inclusivity, and support this important correction in terminology.
